The third annual Bozzuto PaintOurTownPink campaign has officially launched! The campaign, held throughout the month of October brings together employees, residents and friends of Bozzuto to raise breast cancer awareness and research funding. As a friend of Bozzuto, Brook Furniture Rental is honored to participate again this year, in the support to fight breast cancer.
The Paint Our Town Pink initiative which began in 2014, encourages supporters to participate in a variety of ways, including “On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink” and by using the hashtag #PaintOurTownPink to share support experiences on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Last year over 15,000 dollars was raised with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen’s Passionately Pink organization which provides local community breast cancer support.
This year, Brook’s teams are already getting creative with “We Wear Pink On Wednesdays” as they visit Bozzuto customers, delivering candy jars and posting #PaintOurTownPink photos to Brook’s social media channels. Check out brookbozzutopink to view some of the fun attire created from the team’s enthusiastic efforts.
One of the most exciting features of this year’s campaign is the introduction of the Pink Model located at the Bozzuto 8300 Flats apartments in Bethesda, MD. The model which follows the pink theme of October, was designed by Brook’s Director of Merchandising, Jill Wirig and team. The design and layout combines the use of color and textures in hues from subtle to vibrant working together to represent the spirit of women everywhere.
Breast Cancer touches all of us. Whether it be personal, a friend or relative, we have all felt the pain of the disease. I wanted the apartment to reflect the elements of courage and strength but also the many colors and textures that are interwoven into a woman’s life. Many of the design items were custom made specifically for the model – from duvet covers, ottoman upholstering through to the custom lamp shades made by the owner of Lampshades Inc., who is also a breast cancer survivor herself. The apartment was inspired by all those courageous women who are in the fight and to those whose fight is yet to come.

The one bedroom apartment design also includes contributions from many other campaign supporters who provided specific accessories, fabrics, additional furniture and paint to finalize a beautiful and fun creation!
The model suite will be the venue for a variety of the Bozzuto events planned throughout the month of October as part of the awareness program including a Bozzuto Pop In For Pink Event, Kitchen on The Roof Event featuring local vendors, and a Brook Connect Event on Oct.18th.
Stay tuned as we will be posting campaign updates throughout the month, and don’t forget you can show your support to the cause by donating online at BozzutoPink.com!
